on October 8, 2019The WDL Group was founded in 1955 by Theodor Wüllenkemper. He started with banner-towing, seaside resort services, and executive flights, using small propeller-powered aircraft.
WDL Aviation GmbH & Co. KG. was founded in 1974, which was when the first Fokker F.27s were put into service for passenger flights. British Aerospace (BAe) 146 regional jets were added in 1998, together with the Learjet 55. The fleet is currently comprised of 3 British Aerospace BAe 146 Regional Jets and 3 Embraer E190 jets flying for major enterprises across the whole of Europe.
In October 2017, WDL Aviation was acquired by Zeitfracht Luftfahrt Holding GmbH and starting in 2019 will operate under the German Airways brand.
